Executive Planning Support and Accountability for University Students

Congratulations on the beginning of a new academic year! Dropping our children off on campus is a swirl of emotion, whether it’s the first time, or they are nearing graduation. As parents, we are excited by how far they’ve come, but nervous about whether they are quite ready for the next step. We know we need to support their autonomy, but we are concerned that if we give them too much space, they might not make the most of this precious - and expensive - opportunity.

In my 20 years of experience as a college instructor, I saw first-hand how the sudden independence of college life can be a pitfall for bright, hardworking students with executive planning challenges like ADHD. So much of college is about showing up to class, staying organized, and keeping up with the workload. Unfortunately, these are things that challenge so many students!

Students arrive on campus with energy and determination to do well. For some, the lack of accountability can lead to poor attendance and late or missing assignments. Without redirection, these students can flounder and find themselves in a downward spiral of poor academic performance and diminished self-confidence.

It doesn’t have to be this way. With adequate SUPPORT and ACCOUNTABILITY, students can get on track and stay on track, and gain the confidence that comes with academic achievement.

I have a proven program to coach students to:

  • Set goals and plan for achievement

  • Build a structure for their semester

  • Create and maintain a realistic weekly schedule

  • Attend class and keep up with the workload

  •  Follow daily routines to support academic success, physical health, and mental wellbeing

For $1500 per semester, or $1000 per academic quarter, your child will receive:

  • An initial one-hour session for goal-setting and planning

  • Two 20-minute weekly one-on-one check-ins for planning and accountability

  • Grade check reminders around drop-add and withdrawal deadlines.

  • Encouragement to use on-campus support resources and attend office hours.

  • An extended End of Semester session to strategize for end-of term projects and exams

  • Individualized support to balance movement, nutrition, sleep, and social adjustment for optimal wellbeing

By following this proven program, your child will build their own executive capacity and enjoy the fruits of their hard work, while sidestepping common pitfalls that cause anxiety, undermine self-worth, and can even lead to academic failure.
